A collection of some pretty animations that I have found, or made. Though it's probably not the latter.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
So it turns out I had forgotten to put on the “Fall” animation we did as a group in prep work for our final animation.
My blog is now completely out of order, but I think that the process of the cut out animation style of this exercise influenced my decision to do cut out for my final piece.
So I’m hoping that the video looks right on here, but this is my final edit of my animation. It doesnt differ hugely from my recorded version but I made a few changes. I corrected the colour balance in a few areas by splicing the clip into several sections so that the colour was continuous throughout. I also corrected the brightness and contrast in these sections.
I also added a backing track to my animation to give it a bit of character. To do this I edited 3 tracks in Adobe Audition as I thought it would be easier than editing it in Adobe Premiere.
So there we go, my final animation.
EDIT: It appears that unless the video is actually watched on the Youtube site, it appears with black lines.
Well so I have finished recording and editing my animation. It is actually complete as I type this, but for some reason whenever I export the video in widescreen mode it stretches the video vertically and it looks terrible. The source file itself is the correct resolution with the right aspect ratio but for some stupid reason Premiere Pro doesn’t want to be nice today and is messing up the video.
The title cards are somehow the right size, but the video gets stretched. I’m trying to fix it, but to actually get it to be 16:9 anamorphic and not look squashed could be the end of my laptop.
So far I’ve exported it over 20 times using different settings and codecs for each one hoping that maybe I might find one that works but I’ve had no luck. So I shall retreat to Premiere Pro for several more hours and hopefully my next update will be a video that looks right.
So I have filmed my animation. This is the unedited version of the animation, and I will be completing the editing over the Christmas.
I’ve already began this process and will upload the final cut when it’s finished.
So this is my test for my animation. Its basically a shortened version of the opening sequence. I intend to make this section longer to make it look more fluid, but for the purposes of a test i decided to shorten it down so that it would show how my animation is going to look when it comes to my final project. There are a few sections that im not pleased with, and i know how to fix them - simply add more frames. There are sections where the poss stick is simply jumping about and it doesnt look very good. But at least this happened in my test and not my final animation.
So the final animation is well underway. During the week I did a short test to see how my animation will look when the idea isnt in my head. I can tell from my test what things I already need to improve on and how to make it look better, and I can tell how to make it look more fluid. The video is currently being processed by youtube so I’ll post it straight after this.
Not sure whether to have a background during my animation, my initial intent was to have a white background so as to not distract from the animation but i feel that i might add a background on another test to see what it might look like. Youtube video done, so I’ll post that now.
I thought it would be a useful idea to actually upload some images of my item.
So, the item I have is a poss stick. Which according to the internet is an item used for washing clothes before the wonderful washing machine was invented. As soon as i saw this I instantly thought that it could be easily turned into a sword in some way and I think I shall follow up with this idea.
And this is my schedule for the final animation. I plan on sticking to it, and hopefully my animation will only need a little editing over the winter break.
So these are my initial plans for my final animation, I’m still deciding on the style I want to use though I’m leaning towards cut-out as my attempts at drawn animation aren’t too great
